Ah, I remember being a young lad, driving my buddies in my 1985 Mazda GLC to New England Comics in Brockton to hunt down early issues of The Tick before it broke big due to the Saturday morning cartoon. Back then it was just a regional book that New England Comics used to draw people into their comic store… as if having a place to hide indoors in the city of Brockton wasn’t enough of a draw (Brockton is basically Baghdad with a comic store and gang signs. If Eminem were from there, he’d tell people he was from Detroit. Batman would’ve said, “Fuck this place” and moved. But they do have a baseball team… or at least nine guys who wander around with baseball bats. Seriously: it’s really not a fun town. But it does have a rich history if innovation in the fine art of methamphetamine distribution. And, y’know… it’s the birthplace of The Tick. So it’s got that going for it… which isn’t nearly enough.).

The Tick #100 drops in March.
