Tweeting From The Batcave? Some Producer Tweets “Details” About Batman Vs. Superman Plot

batman_vs_superman_logo-996278732Not a lot of time here at the Crisis On Infinite Midlives Home Office – we have a prior commitment with an alcoholic blackout – but I wanted to make a note of something quick.

There hasn’t been a lot in the way of details about the upcoming Batman Vs. Superman movie. Sure, we know that Ben Affleck is playing Batman, and we’ve been hearing that they’re already shooting second unit stuff for the movie, plus there’s talk that Wonder Woman and Nightwing might be a part of it, but there’s not a lot out there about the actual story.

Until this Tweet by a guy named Danial Alter, who is a movie producer who claims to know something about the story.

Hmm. Okay…

This actually makes a certain amount of sense. At SDCC earlier this year, director Zack Snyder prefaced the announcement for Batman Vs. Superman by having an actor read Batman’s internal dialogue from his battle with Superman from Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns, and there have been reports that Snyder has met with Miller to talk about the movie’s story. And the idea of a Batman that’s off the reservation, out of touch with Robin and who is using third party agents to fight a war on crime has a lot of parallels to The Dark Knight Returns. And considering how Superman pledged a certain amount of allegiance to the United States Army at the end of Man of Steel, there’s a certain amount of potential setup for a movie where Batman comes out of retirement to try to stop a Superman who, intentionally or not, is acting as a stooge for the government.

Of course, that assumes there’s actually anything resembling truth behind this Tweet. For all we know, Alter has never seen the script, or spoken to anyone who has anything to do with the film, or is doing anything other than whoring for Twitter followers. Hell, this Twitter account might not even belong to Alter… although personally, if I was gonna make myself a parody account, I think I would set my sights a little higher than the co-producer of Hitman.
